Paul II's Portfolio Site
Hello, and welcome to my college portfolio site. My name is Paul Rogers II
and I was a student at Central Community College. I studied to gain an
Associates of Applied Science Degree in Information Technology and Systems:
specializing in software development. I have been exposed to and learned
some of the standard programming languages for website design and application
coding.
I am familiar with languages like HTML, CSS, Java and JavaScript. Other
languages such as C#, C++, and PHP were covered in course of my education
as well. It's not all just programming languages, though. I have a good
understanding of applications and computer system environments as well now
thanks to this course of education.
Web Design
Designing and building web sites has become a new outlet of content
creation for myself. Over the years, I have now worked on several websites
for a couple college classes. And since then, I have designed and published
a site for sharing personal projects.
Skills
My natural creative drive has led me to create short films and web comics.
I am always looking for new tools to use to create cool and amazing content to
share with the world.
HTML
My first time coding with html came with my Intro to IT course. In this course we had one assignment where we built a small website. The next semester I took a Web Development course and got to go further in depth with building websites. Since then I have been playing around with designing and coding html pages, sometimes just for fun and sometimes to learn new features.
CSS
My experience with cascading style sheets really started with Web Development. During that course I was introduced to all the cool ways css spices up a web page. I have spent countless hours playing with css to see what effects I can create for webpages and to learn new techniques, such as animations and transitions.
Java
I have taken an introduction course to Java. While I did not pick up on coding Java programs as fast as I thought I would, I did establish a basic knowledge of how Java works. I have not coded many applications in Java.
JavaScript
I learned how to create dynamic applications using JavaScript and JQuery. Before taking the course on dynamic web design I wanted to learn how to do some of the awesome features I've seen on so many websites. Now I've gained an understanding of how all those cool features are created.
